On Sunday November 25, 2018 at 3:30am, Paul Tickenoff passed away.  He had been battling ALS for a couple of years.  While ALS may have taken his life, it never took his spirit!

Paul was not only a highly respected judge in Southern California and Region 1, but also across the entire country.  In addition to being a judge, he was also a Region 1 Chairman.  Throughout his life, Paul has done many many things.

His international judging assignments include: Chunichi Cup, Tokyo World Sports Fair; Pacific Alliance Championships, a China-Russia-USA competition, 2008 Pacific Rim Championships, and the 2009 African Championships.

Throughout his career, Paul has volunteered for and organized hundreds of clinics and workshops to aid development of gymnastics coaches and athletes. He has served as a technical director or liaison on numerous regional and national committees that sought to refine the coaching and judging of the sport. Much of that work was unpaid and the SCGJA and the sport of gymnastics will always be indebted to Paul for his tireless effort, and his kindness.
